THE GUAC TRUCK AND WHEELOAF

Checking out two more food trucks worth waiting by the street for, starting with the Mexican-themed Guac Truck.

Burritos (RM12), tacos (one for RM7, two for RM12) & nachos (RM10) with a choice of beef, fish or chicken, made to order & served warm. We really liked our beef burrito - fresh & flavourful, chunky with bits of rice & beans & pretty much everything a burrito needs. The fish tacos were a little less successful - the thickness of the tortillas overshadowed the taco's fillings, & a better-quality fish deserves consideration. The chicken-&-salsa nachos were fine, but on hindsight, beef would've yielded a tastier, creamier topping. Douse with complimentary hot sauce to up the pleasure level. The Guac Truck's on Lorong Rahim Kajai 14 at TTDI after 8pm on some nights & on Jalan SS21/1A at Damansara Uptown on other nights.

Also an encouraging option for comfort-food bites: Wheeloaf, a 'mobile gourmet bakery' for paninis & cheese sandwiches.

Wheeloaf's paninis are a pleasure, warm to the touch, crisp to the bite & creamy to the chew. Go for Gargasm Madness (RM12.90), gorgeous with grilled chicken, garlic confit, lettuce & cheddar cheese. For sandwiches, The Great Dan (RM9.90) is a good one, thick with pulled beef, BBQ sauce, capsicum & mozzarella cheese. The truck wheels into Damansara Uptown, also on Jalan SS21/1A, on most evenings; stalk 'em on Facebook & Instagram to be sure for their 'bready to go' goodies.
